ctsm version 5.3.080, no changes made to this version.

Hi ,

I want to create a ssp126 future case with f19_mg17 resolution, but the the default landuse isn't filled up by the code, so I use

flanduse_timeseries = '/glade/campaign/cesm/cesmdata/inputdata/lnd/clm2/surfdata_esmf/ctsm5.3.0/landuse.timeseries_0.9x1.25_SSP1-2.6_1850-2100_78pfts_c240908.nc'

in my user_nl_clm, but model dies at the step read the land use dataset, so I think it would be the resolution unmatch issue? but under the folder /glade/campaign/cesm/cesmdata/inputdata/lnd/clm2/surfdata_esmf/ctsm5.3.0/, I didn't find the f19 landuse dataset for SSP126, so would appreciate if anyone can tell me where I can find the land use dataset of ssp126 for f19_mg17 or any possible namelist to tell ctsm to interpolate the landuse dataset?

best,

Jinmu

Yes, to run f19 you need f19 fsurdat and landuse files. Looks like we provided f19 landuse files for SSP2 and SSP3 only. This means that you have to run the mksurfdata_esmf tool to generate the SSP126 file that you need. Go to the tool and follow the README instructions. On derecho you can go directly to the sections:
- Building the executable
- Running for a single submission

Hi Sam,

Thank you for your answer, to my understanding, the mksurfdata_esmf is used to create the surface dataset, do you think it can also be used to create the future land use dataset for SSP? If so, could you please tell me how to rescale the SSP126 f09 file down to 2 degrees?
glade/campaign/cesm/cesmdata/inputdata/lnd/clm2/surfdata_esmf/ctsm5.3.0/landuse.timeseries_0.9x1.25_SSP1-2.6_1850-2100_78pfts_c240908.nc

Thank you,

mksurfdata_esmf generates fsurdat files when you request a single year. It generates landuse files when you request a range of years. When you get to the "Running for a single submission" step, you can type --help with the scripts and you will see all the options.
