Questions about SAI experiments

Hello,
I would like to do an aerosol injection experiment at a specific altitude, specific location, similar to the ARISE-SAI experiment. I have questions regarding the experiment.

1. is it possible to do SAI experiment with CAM6-chem? If yes, how can I set some variables of user_nl_cam to do aerosol injection at specific altitude and specific location?

2. Also, I would like to do an aerosol injection experiment with CESM2-WACCM, similar to the ARISE-SAI experiment, at a specific altitude, at a specific location. The data used in the reference (Assessing Responses and Impacts of Solar climate intervention on the Earth system with stratospheric aerosol injection (ARISE-SAI): protocol and initial results from the first simulations) is located in /glade/work/geostrat/injection_files, how can I get it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Hyungjeon,
CAM6-chem has not been setup for an interactive ocean future experiment and therefore if you want to run an experiment like ARISE it would be a bit of work to get CAM6-chem to be able to do that. For CESM2-WACCM, yes, you can run this with specified injection amounts at a specific location.
However, you have to create specific injection files depending on your interest. If you read the paper, you see that the model has been run with extra code to run a feedback control algorithm that controls the injections. However, if you want to run fixed injection runs, you can do this without the feedback controller. Also, various injection experiments have already been performed in the community with WACCM6, and you may want to make sure to see if what you want to run does not yet exist. Noting that WACCM6 is rather expensive.
