Questions about the Perpetual Mode (perpetual Insolation, SST and Sea ice)

I intend to use cesm1.2.1 to perform a perpetual run with Insolation, sst, and sea ice fixed at the climotological January. I am using the cesm1.2.1, cam4,clm4, docn. This is under the F_2000 compset, and the perpetual run namelist option is set in the user_cam_nml, with perpetual=.true.,perpetual_ymd=00010101. I can see that the model is running, and the results still seem to include a seasonal cycle as the usual annual cycle run. Is this option working in the model, how can I be sure that the model is really working with the perpetual namelist option?

I've been interested in this myself, but it seems that option is no longer supported.Check out this previous post: https://bb.cgd.ucar.edu/perpetual-solar-insolation-cam5You can easily set the model to a perpetual equinox by setting the orbital parameters for tilt and eccentricity to zero.

I'd love to have the perpetual option working. I'm going to try looking deeper into this soon.
