Questions about topography inputs for CCSM4

Does CCSM4 use elevation, aspect, flow accumulation, radiaition, and etc. as inputs for the climate data outputs? Also, does the model run at sea level for it's calculations, or does it actually use varying elvation? These questions probaby don't make much sense since I just use runs from ESG, but my adviser wanted me to ask these questions. I can try and clarify a little more if you need me to also.
