rcp85 simulation stop at 12/14/2006

I branch the simulation from my b2000 transient simulation, starting from 2006-01-01The model stop at 12/14/2006.The related error in the atm log is: incr_flnm: old filename = oxid_1.9x2.5_L26_1850-2005_c091123.nc incr_flnm: open filenames_list : oxid_1.9x2.5_L26_clim_list.c090805.txt ENDRUN: not able to increment file name from filenames_list file: oxid_1.9x2.5_L26_clim _list.c090805.txt In the atm_in, it specifies the oxid file is: 'oxid_rcp85_v1_1.9x2.5_L26_1995-2105_c100202.nc', I do not know why the model try to read the old file oxid_1.9x2.5_L26_1850-2005_c091123.nc And the filenames_list file is read only, oxid_1.9x2.5_L26_clim_list.c090805.txt, I do no understand what the model tried to do with this txt file. Any suggestion? Thanks a lot.

I just tried a test run using startup instead of brach. the model run through with no issue.I compare the atm log file of each run.The startup run:.... trcdata_init: data type: INTERP_MISSING_MONTHS file: oxid_rcp85_v1_1.9x2.5_L26_ 1995-2105_c100202.nc (GETFIL): attempting to find local file oxid_rcp85_v1_1.9x2.5_L26_1995-2105_c100202.nc (GETFIL): using /home/xlong/lus/cesm_inputdata/atm/cam/chem/trop_mozart_aero/oxid/oxid_rcp85_v1 _1.9x2.5_L26_1995-2105_c100202.nc open_trc_datafile: /home/xlong/lus/cesm_inputdata/atm/cam/chem/trop_mozart_aero/oxid/oxid_rcp85_v1 _1.9x2.5_L26_1995-2105_c100202.nc....  In the branch run, in which i use a previous b20trc5cn run restart files to initialize the model, .... trcdata_init: data type: INTERP_MISSING_MONTHS file: oxid_rcp85_v1_1.9x2.5_L26_ 1995-2105_c100202.nc (GETFIL): attempting to find local file oxid_1.9x2.5_L26_1850-2005_c091123.nc (GETFIL): using /home/xlong/lus/cesm_inputdata/atm/cam/chem/trop_mozart_aero/oxid/oxid_1.9x2.5_ L26_1850-2005_c091123.nc open_trc_datafile: /home/xlong/lus/cesm_inputdata/atm/cam/chem/trop_mozart_aero/oxid/oxid_1.9x2.5_ L26_1850-2005_c091123.nc   incr_flnm: old filename = oxid_1.9x2.5_L26_1850-2005_c091123.nc incr_flnm: open filenames_list : oxid_1.9x2.5_L26_clim_list.c090805.txt ENDRUN: not able to increment file name from filenames_list file: oxid_1.9x2.5_L26_clim _list.c090805.txt  Again, i do not understand why the branch run try to use the file 'oxid_1.9x2.5_ L26_1850-2005_c091123.nc', I search the namelist files, nothing is related to this file. Any suggestion? Thanks

When the model stop in December at mid month (in your case 12/14/2006), it is a symptom that your dataset doesn't have data for the following year. For instance, say your dataset stops in December 2005, when you reach mid december of the last year, the model looks for data in January 2006 to interpolate between December 2005 and January 2006. If teh model doesn't find the data, it will stop. From the filename, it looks like the dataset stoppes in 2005: oxid_1.9x2.5_ L26_1850-2005_c091123.nc. It seems that in second case, you are using a dataset that goes to the end of 2105, oxid_rcp85_v1_1.9x2.5_L26_1995-2105_c100202.nc, so you have no issue.

When you do a branch, tehre are datasets that are read in the restart file and not in the namelist, this is to garantuee that you are bit-to-bit. Try to do an hybrid run instead.

Thanks Hannay.Yes, it runs through when I use hybrid. The model read the file specified in the namelist. Now I have another issue, the model stop at 2100-12-14, looking for some files not existing. How can I run through 2100-12-14?Thanks.

It is looking for:/atm/cam/chem/trop_mozart_aero/emis/RCP85_mam3_so2_surf_2000-2100_c20110914.nc There is no such file, the file should be: RCP85_mam3_so2_surf_2000-2100_c20110913.nc  But as you said, the date variable in this file stop at 2100-12-15, so the model looks for 2101-01-15 to interpolate into the last half of 2100-12  Is there a way to run through, or I have to create a file including the next month data?  And the non-existing file name "RCP85_mam3_so2_surf_2000-2100_c20110914.nc" seems to be hard-wired somewherer in the model, so even though I create a file including the next month data, I have to change the name to "RCP85_mam3_so2_surf_2000-2100_c20110914.nc" ?Thanks

There are no datasets after 2100. YOu would have to provide datasets to run after 2100.
