Requirements for hybrid run

For error testing, I'm trying to do a hybrid run where I emit an aerosol in the startup run and then don't emit it in the hybrid run. However, the globally averaged TM (column burden, kg/m2) value of the aerosol is not consistent from the end of the startup run to the beginning of the hybrid run.

Is this to be expected from a hybrid run? If so, is there another way to do what I'm attempting (go from non-zero emissions to zero emissions)? If not, any common areas where I may be going wrong?

The response for another aerosol that I emit in the startup and stop emitting in the hybrid run is even more extreme (note 10-6 to 10-32)
