Running CAM with the SOM

I am attempting to run CAM with the Slab Ocean Model and have some questions:

I have downloaded the mld.pd.tar file from http://dss.ucar.edu/datasets/ds285.0/data/woa94/

Within the models/atm/cam/tools/definemld directory I have:

unzipped the mld.pd.tar file and run:
definemld1x1 -m mldfile.nc -v
definemldbdy -s 10 -v -i mldfile.nc -o sst_HadOIBl_bc_64x128_1949_2001_c020411.nc

The sst file used above is the time-variant dataset for the DOM. During the last definemldbdy execution, I get the following message:
NOTE: LANDFRAC not found on sst_HadOIBl_bc_64x128_1949_2001_c020411.nc. Filling MLD over entire globe

Is this a problem?


Next, I will need to run the following:
defineqflux -f first_file.nc -l last_file.nc -s sst_HadOIBl_bc_64x128_1949_2001_c020411.nc -v

Where first_file.nc is the first monthly history file from a multiple year Data Ocean Model control run?

I also want to run CAM3 with SOM. But I don't understand the command; defineqflux. Where is the first_file.nc? And where is last_file.nc? Is first_file.nc camrun.clm2.h0.0000-09.nc? Please help me!

The first_file and last_file refer to the monthly history files from a stand alone CAM run that you have to run in order to provide the surface flux data that will be used to calculate the qfluxes for tyou subsequent SOM run
