Running CAM5(cesm1.2.0) for RCP4.5 using cesm script(Compset) mode ??

Dear CESM Users, I ran CAM5.3 via cesm(Using cesm1.2.0) script mode for historical time (1970-2000) by using a F_2000_CAM5 (Compset to run cam5 equivalant of CAM5 standalone) compset and setting a multi-year SST data and RAMPED GHG emission scenario(Co2). now i prepared boundary conditions for the future time(2005 onwards) i want to use it to run an RCP4.5 experiment using the GHG and aerosols for the RCP4.5 scenario. But i can't see any specific set of Compset for above mentioned case.Can i use same compset with newly created boundary conditons for future with rcp4.5 GHG emission file ???ORDo i need to create a sprecific compset for above ??? if yes please brief about itORis there any other way i can perform the above experiment.??So, please suggest for above. Thanking you in anticipation.Ram
 
Dear Users, I created the above discussed CAM5.3 for RCP4.5 as suggested by Sean Patrick Santos. To set up an F_2000_CAM5 case i created a B_RCP4.5_CAM5_CN case, and compared the atmosphere settings. Then modify the F_2000_CAM5 to have the same GHG settings relevant to the RCP4.5 scenario by changing RUN_STARTDATE, CAM_NML_USE_CASE, CLM_NML_USE_CASE, RTM_BLDNML_OPTS, and CCSM_C02_PPMV  to RCP4.5 specific. Also changed SSTICE_YEAR_ALIGN  to 2005, and SSTICE_YEAR_START and SSTICE_YEAR_END  changed to the years that are on SSTICE file. I also change namelist variables "rampyear_ghg" to run starting year.I am able to run above modified case sucessfully. I thank Santos for this usefull help. I also wanted to make sure about all the chemistry and ghg related setting for the rquirment of my RCP4.5 experiment with F compset case as asked in first post are included. modified case env_run.xml is attached here.So i rquest you to suggest me any particular which i need to change or check for the above case.Thanking you in anticipation.Ram

Did you change rampyear_ghg and run preview_namelists before grabbing this atm_in file? I don't see that variable in your namelist.
 
Yes, i ran for both with changing the 'rampyear_ghg' and without changing it, i found that both case ran sucessfully. In last i omitted it and ran it.i am attaching the atm run log file of both. plz see the line 1005 onwards.Ram

Hmm, so, you ran for 5 days, then continued the case, and when you continued you removed rampyear_ghg? I guess it looks OK, though I don't think it was necessary to remove rampyear_ghg (but for that matter I'm not sure if it was needed in the first place).
 
I am not sure but get a feel that we don't need to set it if we are setting the namelist variable scenario_ghg = 'RAMPED' and bndvghg. it will interpolate the co2vmr corresponding to the date for which the it simulating currently.Please clear am i right about it ???And if it is so than how and where the namelist variable 'rampyaer_ghg' is significante ??Thank you.

Hmm, I'm not sure that I understand myself still. Francis Vitt tells me that not setting rampyear_ghg should do the right thing, so I think that your settings are correct.
 
Thank you Santos for the confirmation. yes it is doing the things which in the same way as i expected.
Can you ask Francis Vitt and other colleague about the rest of the settings regarding RCP4.5/8.5 with F Compset as we did(Mentioned Above)
