running CESM with COSP enabled. No data in the COSP output variables

I am running CESM with COSP enabled . I am getting some output variables related to COSP in the output but they are blank and contain no data . I think the problem is with the way I have enabled COSP in CESM .
Can anyone tell me about the exact procedure for enabling COSP and making changes .

What CESM version are you using, and what have you tried to do to enable cosp? It should be sufficient to use the "-cosp" configure option and to enable the output options you want in the namelist, e.g. "cosp_amwg = .true.".
