set up co2vmr_rad in transient runs?

Hi,

Do I need to modify co2vmr_rad in order to use the time-varying CO2 concentrations in the radiation calculations for the transient simulations (without CN)?

Here is part of my namelist,
bndtvghg = '$DIN_LOC_ROOT/atm/cam/ggas/ghg_hist_1765-2005_c091218.nc'
co2vmr = 368.9e-6
scenario_ghg = 'RAMPED'

The surf temperature in my test runs didn't seem to show the co2-induced warming. I am not sure whether I should change co2vmr_rad?

Thanks,
-Yan

You should *not* set co2vmr_rad if you want the co2 forcing to come from the dataset specified by bndtvghg. If you specify co2vmr_rad it will override the values from the bndtvghg dataset. This behavior is independent of whether you use the CN mode of CLM.

Also note that the setting of co2vmr is being overridden by setting scenario_ghg='RAMPED'. So it isn't necessary to set co2vmr for transient co2 runs.
