Setting prescribed SST input via user_docn.streams.txt.prescribed does not update SSTICE_DATA_FILENAME with cesm2_3_alpha17a

Hi Everyone,

I recently successfully ran both control and forced simulations (F2000climo config.) with modified prescribed SST input data using cesm2_3_alpha17a. But the simulations all looked the same. It turned out that setting the SST input data via the user_docn.streams.txt.prescribed file didn't update the SSTICE_DATA_FILENAME. Even after successfully changing user_docn.streams.txt.prescribed, querying SSTICE_DATA_FILENAME still points to the default SST input data file. I ultimately used ./xmlchange to point to the intended SST inputs prior to running the model.

Did anyone else run into this issue? Or did I do something wrong?

To change the SSTs you need to edit:
SSTICE_DATA_FILENAME

And if relevant:
SSTICE_YEAR_START
SSTICE_YEAR_END
The changes over there should propagate in the relevant namelists.
