Solar Radiation input to CLM3.5

Dear Forum members,I have coupled CLM3.5 to our KingAbdulaziz University (KAU) Global Climate model. Now the model is running but producing lower surfcae temperature over desert regions at summertime. To find the reason I have checked that the downward longwave radiation as forcing to CLM is also low at the same place and time period. Now I put the average of Downward and Upward longwave radiotions to CLM as forcing and after that surface temperature is coming ok.My question is it rightway to give the solar radiation forcing to the model? RegardsAshfaqPh.D studentKingAbdulaziz UniversityJeddahSaudi Arabia
