I am using CESM1, the LENS version, and would like to have a slab ocean model run initialized from a fully coupled run. I was able to form the forcing file for the slab ocean (q-flux, ML depth, etc.), but I do not know how to create the restart docn files (i.e., *docn.r.* and *docn.rs.*). Is there a way to use the restart pop files from the fully coupled to form the restart docn files?
