SOx emission input data

Hi, I want to run CAM3.1 with different SOx emission histories.
Does the emission data file have to look exactly as SOx_emissions_128x256_L2_1850-2000_c040321.nc (i.e. four values a year)?
Are these four values seasonal averages or monthly values for jan, apr, jul and oct?
Does CAM3.1know how to deal with monthly emission data (12 values a year)?

That SOx file has seasonal values - for DJF, MAM, JJA, SON, tagged with 'date' and 'time' values representing the middle day of the middle month.

CAM can handle monthly values - just make sure the field 'date' is correct, as it's used for time interpolating the data for every timestep. Let me know if you have any other questions.
