Splicing runs 9 of 20C3M and SRESA1B experiments (CMIP3)

I am looking for some information regarding run 9 of the 20C3M and SRESA1B experiments.

Even though in a post to forum.cgd.ucar.edu (from 2004!) it is explained that all runs with number X in SRESA1B were started from the corresponding run X in 20C3M, the metadata for run 9 suggests otherwise.

Specifically,
20C3M run 9 says " Created from CCSM3 case b30.030h.ES01" but
SRESA1B run 9 says "This simulation was initiated from year 2000 of CCSM3 model run b30.030g.ES01"

Instead, in all other runs, the two experiment names agree, e.g.:
20C3M run 1 says " Created from CCSM3 case b30.030a" and
SRESA1B run 1 says "This simulation was initiated from year 2000 of CCSM3 model run b30.030a"

I sent an email to Dr. Strand and he replied to not use run 9 of either experiment. Does anybody why I should not use either run, in addition to not splice them together ? These runs have been used in many papers and no errata appears in the PCMDI webpage.
