srf_emis_inti: invalid surface emission specification

Hello Everyone

I am trying to run a NorESM2-LM Atmosphere only simulation with CAM6. When I am trying to inlclude Carbon monoxide (CO) to the surface emission list (tried in user_nl_cam as well as modifying cam compset), it gives me the below error. Does anyone know why is this and is there a way to add CO to the input?
srf_emis_inti: spc_name CO is not included in the simulation
ERROR: srf_emis_inti: invalid surface emission specification

CO is not prognosed in some compsets. Only in compsets than include detailed chemistry is CO prognosed. It seems that CO is not prognosed in your configuration.
