SST field from a CAM slab ocean run?

Hi there,

I have recently been doing some control runs with CAM3.1 with the slab ocean turned on and have a couple of questions about the output. I cannot seem to find an output sst field from the model and assumed that this would be a new variable calculated and outputted from the slab ocean component of the model? Is this value just the surface temperature?

Secondly, has anyone experimented with spinup time for CAM with slab ocean? The user guide just states that it "could" take up to 40 years but has anyone had any experience with actual spinup before using the output?
