Startup ocean model initialized with zero velocity?

Hi all,I am running a coupled startup run, and I know that ocean model is initialized using the January-mean PHC2 temperature and salinity data, but how should the ocean velocities initialized, are they from zero?I would appreciate any of your help! Thanks! Any help would be really appreciated.Thanks in advance.
