Use NCEP SST (1º resolution) as boundary condition in F_2000_CAM5 compset of CESM1.0

Dear all,

Now I'm trying to run CAM standalone simulation (use F_2000_CAM5 compset). But I have to input "NCEP OI SST and ice_concentration (1º resolution)" as the boundary condition. My problems are:
(1) Do I need to interpolate or regrid SST and ice_concentration and then put into CAM as boundary condition? Can new CAM automatically recognize and interpolate itself?
(2) If I need to do interpolation by myself, what tools are available in new version CAM, since I've known that several tools have been removed since CAM4.
(3) My SST is weekly. Can I directly use it without changing time resolution?

Thanks a lot for helping me out of such difficulties!

I have a question related to this post:

Are the F_2000 compsets the most suitable F-class compset when I want to run CAM stand-alone with my own prescribed SST boundary forcing? I assume i just create a SST file that mimics the original boundary file and replace it.

Which are suitable resolutions that work with the F_2000 compset?

Thanks!

You don't need to interpolate or change the time resolution.

If you want to run with climatological SSTs (a 12-month SSts datset) and with CAM4 physics, then, yes this is the most suitable compset.
