Use of AOGCM 'ts' as SST

Hi, I want to use AOGCM output variable 'ts' as SST for CAM run. over Ocean grid points it is ok, but over land it seems doubtful ?Can i use it as it now ? OR should i replace the 'ts' values at land using bilinear interpolation (means First Mask it over land and then fill using Bilinear interpolation) ??
Please suggest .. Another query is that how does CAM deals with SST at land points ?? if it ignore at land then it is require only for continuety in data ??Please clarify ...Thanking you in anticipation.
