Using CAM-FV restart in CAM-SE

Hi,Using restart files from the CESM Large Ensemble (for example on Yellowstone at /glade/scratch/szapiro/cesm_le/rest_2030_034), I would like to use CAM-SE as the dycore instead of CAM-FV with the "same" initial conditions. How should I do this? Do I interpolate fields myself or are there some tools available?I haven't been able to find documentation for this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You need to interpolate the FV on the SE grid. This is easily done with NCL using the ESMF regridding tool.

See examples at: http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/ESMF.shtml

Hi Cecile,For clarification, the ESMF is the preferred method for this, while interpinic works between different finite volume resolutions?Thank you,Kuo
