Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the public release of version 3 of the Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model (WACCM3). WACCM3 is a coupled 3-dimensional chemistry-climate model that extends in altitude from the surface to the lower thermosphere (~140 km ). Model chemistry solves for both neutral and ion species, and includes realistic solar and geomagnetic forcing. Details of the model and recent publications can be found at http://waccm.acd.ucar.edu. WACCM3 source code, input datasets, run scripts, and documentation can be downloaded from the Community Data Portal (http://cdp.ucar.edu/). Users are encouraged to participate in meetings of the CCSM WACCM Working Group (http://www.ccsm.ucar.edu/working_groups/WACCM/) and to sign up to the mailing list at http://mailman.cgd.ucar.edu/mailman/listinfo/waccm.
