Water Table Depth getting stuck at 3.8m

Hello,

I am running CLM4.5 with custom atmospheric forcing and custom resolution (25km). I am running into this problem where for some of the gridcells the Water Table Depth (ZWT) gets stuck at 3.8m (basically the last layer in the soil profile). This is also accompanied by an increase in negative groundwater recharge. The figures attached below illustrates this case:

Is this a potential bug in the hydrology code of CLM? Or any other reasons why this might be happening?

Thanks

I'm not aware of any bugs that would affect water table depth in CLM4.5.
The released simulations we have done with CLM4.5 seem to show a smooth seasonal cycle in ZWT.
You can look here for various regions:

The "hydrology" column to the right shows plots of the seasonal cycle of ZWT.
This is for CLM forced by GSWP3V1 and CRUNCEPV7 atmosphere.
