what does "-chem none" mean?

Hi everyone, I am trying to run a case without chemical process. I noticed someone set CAM_CONFIG_OPTS="-chem none". I am wondering that does "-chem none" turn off chemical process? After i set "-chem none", the programm seems to request some aeroso input data.

I can hardly find document about "-chem none". Could anyone explain what "-chem none " will lead to ? or How to close chemical process?
