Hello anyone,
I noticed that a big change of CLM3 to CLM2 is on the grid hirachy.
Different from CLM2 which saved all availables on pft level, CLM3 saved some variables like SOIL WATER and SOIL TEMPERATURE on column level ---- indicates that all pfts are sharing the same soil environment. My question is why change these soil condition variables to column level? As we know, ground surface temperature are not the same for different PFTs in real world.
