I was running CESM 1.2.2 on Yellowstone in aquaplanet configuration using the FC4AQUAP compset wth CAM4 physics. I then moved to Cheyenne and began running the same compset in CESM 1.2.2.1 on Cheyenne. However the output of my two aquaplanet control runs is significantly different, which is surprising, since according to release notes, there were no changes to the code base. Cheyenne is down at the moment, but to debug I plan on first comparing the climatologies between the two data sets. I was wondering if NCAR has released any diagnostics on the aquaplanet configuration of CESM that I could compare my runs to? This would help greatly in debugging. If anybody has any suggestions on how I should reconcile the differences between the runs, that would also be of great help. As far as I know, the Aquaplanet configuration has never been scientifically validated, so perhaps there is no guarantee that results should be consistent between versions? Thank you for the help, and happy new year!Update: I checked the climatologies, they are the same. I erroneously forgot to revert my ocn_comp.F90 after changing it. Best Regards,Minmin Fu
