CLM spin up

Hello everyone, I would like to ask about the variable output method in user_nl_clm when setting up spin up. Does the output method here have to be the same as the output method during formal simulation?

Generally, we setup separate cases/simulations for spinup and "formal". So you can use different history field output approaches for each.

Thank you, dear Oleson, actually, I want to know if the fsurdat of the two case spinup and formal need to be same

The fsurdat of the two cases can be the same, but do not need to be the same.

If this is a BGC (biogeochemistry) spin-up using the AD (accelerated decomposition) method, then we recommend several hundred years of spin-up.

If this is a SP (satellite phenology) spin-up, then a few decades should suffice.

Thank you very much, Dear slevis, actually, i don't know what AD means, is that means use ./xmlchange CLM_ACCELERATED_SPINUP=on?
