Unable to Access CESM Documentation on www2 Subdomain

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to report an issue accessing some important documentation on your website. Specifically, I have been unable to open the following links:

1. SOM Documentation:https://www2.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm1.2/data8/doc/SOM.pdf
2. Paleo Climate FAQ:https://www2.cesm.ucar.edu/models/paleo/faq/

These resources are critical for my research on slab ocean and paleoclimate modeling. However, the www2 subdomain appears to be unavailable. I’ve tried troubleshooting steps such as clearing my browser cache, using different browsers, and checking my network connection, but the issue persists.

Could you kindly:

• Confirm whether these links are still active or if they have been relocated?
• Provide alternative access to the files if possible?

I couldn't open it using the public network at the public library in my city, but it worked when I returned home and used my private network. The specific reason is unclear.

Hi, I am having the same issue. I cannot access any cesm.ucar.edu documents, and any sites related to https://www2.cesm.ucar.edu can't be reached. I found this issue since yesterday. I tried using different Wi-Fi, my university Wi-Fi, private Wi-Fi/network(home), public(university network), and even my university VPN, to check if I could access these sites. None of them worked.

Hello, I am a beginner in using CESM. While reading the user guide recently, I found that some of the provided links are still inaccessible, often requiring authentication. May I ask if this is because the website is currently under maintenance?

In addition, when authentication is requested, I did not see any option to register for an account and password. Could you please advise me on how to register in order to gain access to the website?

@chenyihui unfortunately, there is no registration to access the www2 website as we are migrating it to other websites. I can see you were trying to view the CLM in CESM1.2 configurations PDF so I have that now available at:

https://files.cesm.ucar.edu/models/clm/CLM_configurations_CESM1.2.pdf
