A problem with CESM2 cmip6 outputs

Hi everyone, recently I'm analyzing the output data of CESM2 for CMIP6 AMIP experiments. There're 3 ensemble members, and the magnitude of precipitation flux in r1i1p1f1 is about 10^-9 kg m-2 s-1 while 10^-4 kg m-2 s-1 in the other two ensemble members. It seems that the results of r2i1p1f1 and r3i1p1f1 are more reasonable. Is there any problem with the first ensemble member? Should I use the other two ensemble member to calculate the ensemble mean and ignore the first one? Thank you.

There was a conversion error in the early precipitation datasets - all values were multiplied by 86400. That was quickly corrected, and the data republished to ESGF. You may have one of the original erroneous datasets.

I've checked all the AMIP monthly precipitation data (pr_Amon) and all datasets have reasonable values.

Please let me know specifically what file(s) you're using. Thanks!

Hi Gray,
The file name is pr_Amon_CESM2_amip_r1i1p1f1_gn_195001-201412.nc. I've already redownloaded this file from ESGF and the output is alright.
Thank you so much!

Great! Thanks for the post.
Hi Gray,
I've noticed another problem with the output data on ESGF. It seems that part of the results of hist-aer is missing, as the image below. Do you have any idea with this issue? Thanks!
