A question for CAM5-SOLIN (monthly mean)

Hi,I want to know how the model calculates SOLIN (monthly mean) in CAM5.Does it consider the duration of sunshine changes day by day when calculated?Such as, at a given month, SOLIN = (S1*Day1+S2*Day2+...+S30*Day30)/(Day1+Day2+...+Day30), right?(S denotes solar insolation in a day, Day denotes the duration of sunshine in the same day)Looking forward to your reply.Thanks.

The model compute on the solar incoming radiation at very grid point at every radiation timestep (6-hour). On the timestep scale, some grid points will recieve not incoming solar. The incoming radiation is averaged over the month.
