Advected constituents name and index

Greetings,

I was wondering how could be possible to get the indexes from the advected constituents (transported aerosols tracers) in CAM6 for the aerosols in the MAM4 (Modal Aerosol Module).
Once I get their indexes, is there any way to modify them?.
Thanks in advance

Hi Toni,
Could you provide more details about what you mean regarding index values?
Best,
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,

I have seen that in module named physics_types.F90, there is defined an array (line 88: q ! constituent mixing ratio (kg/kg moist or dry air depending on type) where are located all the advected constituents (aerosols included).
A few lines below looks that there is a function named: cast_get_ind, which can be used to get index of each advected constituent ( a few examples akin lines 300 and below).
My question is how to get those indexes for the aerosols repesented in MAM4?.
I am guessing that by default there some values for those aerosols and from them I would to use them to nudge aerosols from my own source.

Thanks in advanced

Toni
