Are agricultural emissions (from fertilizer application) included in input data repository emissions for NH3/NOx?

Hi,
In the input data repository (https://svn-ccsm-inputdata.cgd.ucar.edu/trunk/inputdata/atm/cam/chem/emis/emissions_ssp126/), I can see biomass burning (bb) and anthropogenic (anthro) emissions .nc files. I am wondering do these files include the emissions from agricultural activities. For e.g., NH3 or NOx can be released from fertilizer application in agricultural areas. Will it be right if I guess, these emissions are associated with anthropogenic activities so are included in the 'anthro' .nc file?
Thank you.

Seems likely. I used ncdump to look for metadata in one of the files. For example,
Code:
ncdump emissions-cmip6-ScenarioMIP_IAMC-REMIND-MAGPIE-ssp585-1-1_bc_a4_anthro_surface_mol_175001-210101_0.9x1.25_c20190224.nc
...and found possibly useful information for you:

Code:
:data_summary = "Emissions from the Community Emission Data System (CEDS) have been manipulated for use in CESM2 for CMIP6. Original files: BC-em-anthro_input4MIPs_emissions_CMIP_CEDS-2017-05-18_gn_175001-179912.nc, " ;
:cesm_contact = "Louisa Emmons or Simone Tilmes" ;
...
:data_source_url = "http://www.globalchange.umd.edu/ceds/ceds-cmip6-data/" ;
:data_reference = "Hoesly et al., GMD, 2017 (http://www.geosci-model-dev-discuss.net/gmd-2017-43/)" ;

@tilmes may have additional information.

Thank you @slevis
I think it's hard to tell if agricultural emissions are included based on these pieces of information.

The paper referenced above seems to contain multiple references to the inclusion of agricultural emissions, e.g.,
"We note that, while agriculture sectors include a large variety of activities, in practice, in the current CEDS system these sectors largely represent NH3 and NOx emissions from fertilizer application (under 3-D_Soil-emissions) and manure management, due to the focus in the current CEDS system on air pollutant emissions."
"CEDS energy estimates are consistently larger than CMIP5 emissions, by 22–58 %, while CEDS agriculture emissions are consistently 10–15 % smaller than CMIP5 estimates, except in 2000 (6 % smaller) when CMIP5 estimates dip and CEDS emissions flatten due to our inclusion of FAO agriculture data."

But you could post on the CAM-Chem Forum, I imagine they would know for sure.
