branch run not reproducing CESM control 'bit-for-bit'

Dear All,I seem to be unable to reproduce my control simulation in a bit-for-bit fashion using a “branch” run. The control was run about 2 or 3 months ago. The branch simulation runs fine - but produces output that is different from the control.  The control and the branch run both use the CESM-large ensemble (CESM_LENS) source code that I ported to Cheyenne. I had to run my own control simulations since the compilers and software changed since the original CESM_LENS experiments were performed several years ago. I am wondering if the supporting software (compliers or other supporting software) on Cheyenne system has changed in the last few months (since July) as I have not changed any settings for the branch run apart for the RUN_TYPE=branch, as well as the RUN_REFDATE and RUN_REFCASE variables (in the env_run.xml file) Thanks for any insight,  Erin
