Can I have different time resolutions for sst and sea ice input?

Merry Christmas!
I'm running CCSM4 with compset F. I'm wondering if I can have different time resolutions for sst and sea ice input.
For example, my sst input file is daily resolution and my sea ice input file is monthly mean.
During the initialization, it gave me this error:

(shr_stream_findBounds) ERROR: LVD not found, all data is after yearLast
(shr_sys_abort) ERROR: (shr_stream_findBounds) ERROR: LVD not found, all data is after yearLast
(shr_sys_abort) WARNING: calling shr_mpi_abort() and stopping

This was reported in the ice log file. What is LVD? Can someone please point me in the right direction?
