CESM/CAM output time axis

Dear CESM Community,
I am using the CESM/CAM for some of the simulations experiments. I am saving the output fileds at monthly time scale. As we know the CESM outputs has written on the last day of month l.e. 31st day for January. But when you access the data and its time axis it is YYYY-02-01. which is 1st feb. So when you use any tool to calculate the seasonal average, it take the month index 02 for second(feb) of the particular year. but actually the data at first time point is for January month, it may results into wrong conclusions if my doubt is right. Please check.

CSEG and Liaisons
The CAM User's Guide explains how times are written to the history files.  In particular note that the time_bnds variable contains the correct times corresponding to the interval that was averaged over.  The value in the time variable is the time at the end of the interval.

Hi Eaton,I agree about the time bounds and averaging over it. but once it is averaged time axis starts from 2-1. and when i plots it the timesries it starts from feb onwards. now i can understand it may be a limitation of tool(UVCDAT) which i am using to analyse the data. I think i have to deal with this issue separately in my case, e.i. Shifting the time axis in the middle of time bounds interval. Can you suggest anything else??Thank you.
