Greatings,

I would like to simulate climate change effects in Brazil using the CESM1 model (CMIP5).

I am looking for CESM’s resolution information to realize regional dynamical downscaling with the WRF mesoscale model.

According to information catched on NCAR Website, the CESM (CESM1) model has a 0.942ox1.25o resolution (NCAR RDA Dataset ds316.0). Is it right?

Do you have propouse preparing CESM output with CMIP6 data to use WRF dynamical downscaling?

Thanks a lot!

Sincerely,

Those data in the RDA (ds316.0) are the data you want to use for downscaling to force WRF, and the resolution is roughly 1 degree in longitude and in latitude.

If I understand your question correctly, I recommend asking the WRF folks on best practices regarding downscaling of the CESM data.
