CESM2 LENS Archived Restart Files

Hello.

I am trying to do branch runs from the CESM2 LENS BHISTsmbb 1231.017, 1231.018, 1251.015, and 1251.019 ensembles beginning 2010-01-01. There are multiple files ending in .nc.archived in the respective directories for these particular ensembles, for example:

/glade/campaign/cesm/collections/CESM2-LE/restarts/2021-4-12-14-54.b.e21.BHISTsmbb.f09_g17.LE2-1231.018.cpl.r.2010-01-01-00000.nc.archived

instead of just b.e21.BHISTsmbb.f09_g17.LE2-1231.018.cpl.r.2010-01-01-00000.nc.

What do the archived files mean, and are the original restart files available to complete the branch runs?

Hi,

Is it possible to also make the CESM2-LE BHISTsmbb restart files for 1011.001, 1031.002, 1051.003, 1071.004, 1091.005, 1111.006, 1131.007, 1151.008, 1171.009 and 1191.010 available? Specifically for 2015-01-01-00000? I see directories for these on /glade/campaign/cesm/collections/CESM2-LE/restarts/, but without any files. Thanks!

Thanks jedwards. So 2025-01-01 is the closest restart year avaialble post 2020. What is the closest restart year available that precedes 2020?

Great, much appreciated!! I am able to access the restart files for all of the realizations that you have marked with an "x". For the others, however, I am unabel to access due to lack of permission (specifically, the 2015-01-01-00000 directories). Can that be changed?

Dear jedwards,

Unfortunately, many of the files still have permission issues. I am unable to copy most of the restart netcdf files over to cheyenne. Can these be changed?
