Hi everyone. I'm new to CESM and have some questions after reviewing the section on customizing forcing data in the CIME User Guide (7.2 Customizing data model input variable and stream files):
- Why is it necessary to modify the stream file when customizing forcing data? Why can't we directly use usr_nl_xxx to change the path and file name of the forcing data variable (e.g., flanduse_timeseries) in the namelist?
- If I need to customize forcing data, how exactly should I modify it?
- Are the methods for customizing forcing data the same for both data components and active components?
