control the frequency of restart files

Hello,

I am trying to produce CAM3 outputs as 6-hourly data.
The problem is that the restart data files are created in the same frequency that the primary history file and my disk is full very fast. Could I control the frequency of restart files such as *.r.* and *.ra.* ?

Thank you,

CAM3 has very limited functionality with respect to restart files. By default you get them at the same frequency as a full primary history file. Optionally, you can turn them off completely by setting nrefrq=0. The best way to get them less frequently without turning them off completely would be to increase the number of time samples written to the primary history file via the mfilt namelist variable.
