Hello,

I want to use the mixed layer depth variable in CESM2-LE and compare it with the 'ocean mixed layer thickness defined by sigma T (mlotst)' in CMIP6. I found two mixed layer depth related variable in CESM2, one is HMXL (long name: Mixed-Layer Depth) and the other is HMXL_DR (long name: Mixed-Layer Depth (density)). I wonder what's the difference between these two variables and which one I can use to compare with 'mlotst' in CMIP6? Thank you!
