Difference between two variables in the river input file

Hi,

I'm very confused that the river input file 'riv_nut.gnews_gnm.gx1v7_nn_open_ocean_nnsm_e1000r300_marginal_sea.20170425.nc' has variables "dic_riv_flux" and "alk_riv_flux" with the same long_name "River flux of ALK". Are they the same? If it's not, what's the difference?


Any help would be greatly appreciated!

And the some variables have the long_name "Modeled nutrient form load", what does that mean?
