I would like to obtain global N₂O mixing ratio data from the WACCM output available online. I was wondering if there is a way to download only the variable(s) I need, in this case, N₂O, without having to download the other variables.
At present, even a single month of global WACCM output is around 300 GB, so downloading the complete dataset just to extract N₂O locally is quite resource-intensive.
I understand that I can download the full file and extract the N₂O variable afterwards. However, I also wanted to suggest to the data management team whether it would be possible to provide a selective-download feature, allowing users to download only specific main variables (such as tracers) from the dataset. This could significantly reduce the required storage, bandwidth, and download time for users who only need a subset of the available variables.
