Emission inventory in MAM3

In CESM1.2.2, does the aerosol emission inventory in MAM3 (CAM5) for year 2020 represent the average emission level between 2010 and 2030, or just the emission level in 2020? I noticed that the emission inventory gives data every 10 years (2010, 2020 and 2030).

Thank you for help!

Hi Ranqui,

The model will interpolate emissions online as long as:
srf_emis_type = 'INTERP_MISSING_MONTHS'
is defined in your namelist definitions.

So, if you are using the emissions from a scenario (e.g. SSP5-85), the 2020 emissions are the projected emissions in 2020.

Best,
Rebecca

Thank you, Rebecca. If srf_emis_type = 'INTERP_MISSING_MONTHS', the model will use linear interpolation for monthly emission?
