I have searched for information about ERA5 datm forcing in the Forums. It seems a few people have tried to use it, but an ERA5 datm dataset is not supported from NCAR yet.
We are planning to generate an ERA5 datm forcing dataset to run with both I (datm+ctsm) and G (datm+ocn+cice) cases. We are using a coupled system based on CESM1.
Is there any interest from NCAR/CESM to make this dataset available to the community thru the standard CESM inputdata filesystem? If so, I am willing to create the datasets if someone is willing to make the changes in CESM2. I will be making changes in the datm model in our CESM1 based system myself. Also, if there are any different requirements for CESM2 vs CESM1, please let me know and I'll take this into account as I create the dataset.
Finally, if anyone has used the ERA5 dataset to setup some datm forcing and have found any "gotchas", I'd love to hear about it. Thanks.
