Error: Unexpected ‘%', Build Failure

Hi there,

I am encountering a persistent issue with building a case using CESM2.3.alpha17a. My configuration includes CAM tag cam6_3_160, compset B1850, and resolution f19_g17. Each attempt to build the case results in an error.

In contrast, switching the compset to "1850_DATM%GSWP3v1_CLM45%BGC_SICE_SOCN_RTM_SGLC_SWAV" allows the build to succeed without any issues. For your reference, I've attached the log files from both build attempts. Could you please help me pinpoint the problem?

Hi Will,

It looks like the CESM2.3.alpha17a tag includes the CAM tag cam6_3_142 by default, rather than cam6_3_160. Advancing one component's tag and not others often causes errors since the components are all pretty intertwined. I would recommend using the cesm2_3_alpha17e tag, which has been tested and includes cam6_3_160.
