Hi @oleson and @slevis,

I need to do a full spin-up to check for any changes in the C-cycle from the modifications I made to the N cycle scheme after implementing soil NOx. My plan is to follow the usual spin-up procedure: starting with an accelerated force cold start (AD) and checking the steady-state conditions in the carbon pools using SpinupStability, followed by a slower spin-up (postAD), with another check of the carbon steady-state conditions.

Is this still an appropriate procedure for CTSM? I heard that the spin-up process might now take more than 800 years, as the ad-postAD spin-up is slower than the matrix solution being used in the main development branch of CTSM5.2. Are there any other parameters I should check to make sure that the steady-state assumptions are met?

Thanks a lot!

Maria
