how to interpolate sea-ice fraction data over land?

Hello,

I have a problem regarding the interpolation of sea ice data. I plan to run CCSM4 with compset F_2000_CN, but with different SST and sea-ice. The "default" SST file is Hurrell data set with 1x1 resolution, thus I need to interpolate my SST and sea ice fraction to the same resolution in Hurrell data set. The problem is that in Hurrell data set the sea-ice is interpolated over land, while in my own file there is no value of sea-ice over the continents. I wonder how can I interpolate sea-ice fraction?

Appreciated for any suggestions.

You could use the ncl function "poisson_grid_fill"http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Functions/Built-in/poisson_grid_fill.shtml
