How to perform a continuation run

Dear all,I hope I have posted this question in the correct forum.I have run a 90-day simulation with F_2000_WACCM with CESM 1.0.6. I wish to now continue this run for another 90 days without adding any new parameters or making any changes and without starting a branch run.  I read the CESM 1.0.4 user's guide but I am a little confused about it. I tried to follow the direction but the simulation started from the beginning rather than continue from the last day.Could someone tell ne what process should I follow? I am performing the simulation in a personal computer and not in a cluster. Also if I want to add more output parameters (without making any other changes) what process should I follow? Do I need to start a branch run? Thank you in advance for your help,Beth

You need to set CONTINUE_RUN = TRUE. Then you resubmit your job.If you want to add more variables, you need to do a branch run.

Hi Beth,If you are interested in background information about CESM and how to use it, I recommend you work through the CESM Tutorial materials.  For the version you are using, I encourage you to read through the Practical Session materials, which can be found at http://www.cesm.ucar.edu/events/tutorials/073012/The lecture notes from the first practical session from Day 1 address your question about continuation runs; see slide 50 of the notes athttp://www.cesm.ucar.edu/events/tutorials/073012/day1.practical1.santos.pdfFor users of more modern CESM releases, the tutorial materials for CESM versions 1.0 through version 1.2 are available athttp://www.cesm.ucar.edu/events/tutorials-- Nancy

Dear hannay, Nancy,Thank you very much for the information. I already tried hannay's advice and it worked. My mistake was that I was also putting resubmit=true. This resulted in the run restarting from the beginning. Beth
