How to use specified aerosols, GHGs (CO2 & CH4), and ozone in CESM2-WACCM BWma1850 compset?

To Whom this may concern,

I have 12-month means (3-D fields, over 211 y of output) from the BW1850 compset that I would like to prescribe into the BWma1850 compset.

I understand that I can use the "prescribed_aero_specifier", etc., "prescribed_ghg_specifier", etc., and "prescribed_ozone_specifier", etc., to point to the species (and files with the prescribed_*_file).

Is there any documentation of doing such a process? I can find information on user modifications, but nothing specific about reworking prescribed vs. prognostic species.

Additionally, the following is stated under the prescribed_aero_specifier namelist entry.

A list of variable names of the concentration fields in the prescribed aerosol datasets
and corresponding names used in the physics buffer seperated by colons. For example:

prescribed_aero_specifier = 'pbuf_name1:ncdf_fld_name1','pbuf_name2:ncdf_fld_name2', ...

If there is no colon separator then the specified name is used as both the pbuf_name and ncdf_fld_name,

What is the naming convention (or where can I find the naming convention) for the pbuf_name and ncdf_fld_name. I figure the ncdf_fld_name is something like bc_a1, for example (though I may be wrong), but I am unsure where to find the corresponding pbuf_name.

Version information is attached. Please let me know if you require any more information.

Sincerely,

Noah Stanton
