Ice roughness length in CICE

Hi
I try to find out the roughness length used in the CICE model. I am running CAM4.0 in a stand alone configuration. I can only see one value of the roughness length in CICE, the default value of iceruf = 5e-4. This seems to be a very low value!

Is this the only value for the roughness length in the CICE?

Thanks!

The boundary layer over ice has to make certain assumptions. The roughness of the ice surface is one of these assumptions. If you are referring to the ice-ocean interface, this boundary layer formulation is even simpler and assumes a constant heat transfer coefficient and drag coefficient. You are certainly welcome to develop your own formulation and present your findings at a Polar Climate Working Group meeting in the near future.
